Mathematics Institute for Analysis and Applications MATHAA
The activities of our members span a vast range of mathematics, from fundamental discoveries to real-world applications. Mathematical topics studied range from partial differential equations and calculus of variations, through probability and stochastic processes to statistical inference and modelling, to discrete optimisation. We apply our ideas to a wide range of topics in physics, biophysics, image analysis and tomography, environmental and financial hazards, epidemics and the growth of tumours, waves, scheduling problems and network design.
For more information about our activities, please consult the webpages for our constituent chairs.
